Introduction

  • I was born in Pécs in 1978 into a family of craftsmen.
    Creativity was a natural part of my life – not a choice, but rather a gift. Tailoring did not become a trade I learnt, but rather a continuation of what I instinctively sought as a child: giving form to fabric.
  • From my masters – the master tailors Ferenc Gyurász and Imre Pálffy – I learnt not only technique, but also a way of thinking. That tailoring is not about show, but about responsibility. With consequences that can be measured in millimetres.
  • In 1995, I ran the costume workshop at the Pécs National Theatre. The stage teaches discipline: the fabric must function in motion, in light, and over time. This experience has been present in every suit I’ve made ever since.
  • In 1999, I opened my own tailor’s shop in Pécs. Initially, we made traditional garments; later, our focus shifted to elegant men’s suits. The designs became more refined, and our approach more profound.
  • Today, Gangel Tailors works with a range of fabrics that is unique even within the industry. For us, fabric is not merely a choice, but a fundamental principle.
  • In 2008, I obtained a degree in computer science, and we introduced 3D garment design. Not for the sake of technology, but to understand the relationship between the body and the fabric even more precisely.
  • In 2018, we opened a showroom in Budapest.
  • In 2019, we expanded further.

Since then, the workshop has continued to be built on the same foundations:
attention to detail, a sense of proportion, and that knowledge which does not explain – it simply works.
